WHAT CAN CHIEF SIR VICTOR UMEH ACHIEVE IN THE SENATE?

On.............................................26/10/14

Ndi be anyi let's start with one simple, undeniable fact about Chief Sir Victor Umeh, he is a worthy Ambassador of Ndi Igbo of our generation, an example of what a serious minded champion of the people’s cause should be.

Chief Sir Victor Umeh did not just show the idealism to dream of a better future; he has shown the ideas and the courage to make that future possible by the way he championed the interest of Ndi Igbo at the just concluded National Conference, ask other delegates they will tell you his presentation was a bombshell and nothing but the truth when tackled the issue of compensation for sections of Nigeria ravaged by military actions of the nations troops.

What was Chief Sir Victor Umeh’s contribution? He reminded the house that the implementation ought to start with the states destroyed during the civil war, at the end of the day; his superior arguments had its way. Of course why not? Did Nigeria ever implement the 3 Rs of Gowon? No they did not. I remembered when IBB asked while he was the head of state, “Is this the same Onitsha that we levelled?” Yes Nigerian troops destroyed Onitsha, but after the war nobody tried to fix it back, imagine that.

But when Boko Haram issue ensued, the North proposed that Maiduguri and other areas should be rebuilt by setting aside a particular percentage of the allocation for repairs, and out leader accepted, but reminded Nigerian that the implementation should include South East and South South that was decimated during the Biafran civil war. A resolution was passed based on that and now awaits ratification by the Senate next year.

You will remember that our President informed us that the outcome of the national conference shall be implemented to the last letter. What is left for us, Ndi Igbo to do is to ensure that such a legislative asset of Ndi Igbo get to the Senate and help get those resolutions implemented for the sake of our future. We came into this together. We see it through - together. Strong values and sound judgment for the things we believe in, and Anambra Central Senatorial District is one of the few places where strong values and sound judgment are more needed in the next year’s election, if we lose Anambra Central Senatorial District again to those "OGA OO MU KWUE – LEGISLATORS" of PDP or APC platforms, how will we feel if they sweep those resolution under the carpet?

Let’s make sure the Senators don’t run away from what the delegates of the National Conference have resolved, which they said is the redefinition of Nigeria. Let's hang it round their necks today, tomorrow, every day until polling day when shall elect one of those who passed the resolution to enable the Senate make those resolutions our law. On that note, we the people of Anambra Central Senatorial District earnestly ask for Chief Sir Victor Umeh to represent in the Senate for 2015- 2019 legislative years.
I tell you Ndi Anambra, Ndi Igbo, Ndi APGA, we will never remain silent on this issue that concerns our future. The YES have it!

VOTE APGA for a Strong Igbo voice in the Senate come next election, Vote APGA, say yes to Chief Sir Victor Umeh, on that we stand.

PRO APGA FRONT.
