One of the home-truths I picked up in
the course of touring Anambra Central in this Campaign is that APGA government
still strives to change the way things were done here wrongly, we are still in
that work to give Anambra the best, we are not done and our effort is sustained by faith in Ndi Anambra and faith in
the capabilities of our leaders. In the face of APGA success, our opponents
talk incessantly of failure. Where there is hope they counsel despair. To sell
their plan, they think it is necessary to talk Anambra state down –- to
extinguish people's faith.
Our counsel is hope always for the
best. These days it is more than hope – it is belief that come what may, APGA
shall soar. My counsel is hope. Let there be no mistake, we are Progressives
who understand that our state must continue to change until we get to the level
of development we all shall be satisfied with. The change that APGA institutes
in Anambra is embedded in reality and commonsense, not shaped by a computer
model or a textbook tales. Ours is a change that does not break the mould of Anambra
society by causing confusion because of ambitions, but a lasting change which
aim at reshaping Anambra by drawing on its strengths. We are still as
determined as we were on the first day we stepped out to make a difference,
much had been done, we are doing more, yet we still have lots to put in place.
Unemployment is the
greatest problem we face. It is the problem of the era, not just in Anambra
state, but in the entire nation. It is, overwhelmingly, the principal concern
of the Government of Anambra state. We will introduce new measures for
unemployed people as we promised, including older men, and today we have
further initiatives to assist other older people have fair living here. We are
working to create both short term and long term jobs to keep our work force
busy and create wealth for our people because Anambra works when our people work.
APGA government is not relenting; this is why we ask that Anambra people should
strive to elect those legislators who shall work in synergy with our working
Governor Willie Obiano to create those jobs, not those who pray we fail so that
they will catch in on that to destroy our state. It would be a tragedy if we
allow those political scavengers to crush our faith in APGA or ruin our work to
date, avoid that by voting APGA in this election. We are determined not to fail this time.
It has been APGA’s consistent theme that our success as a people and a state depends on our ability to harness all our resources, human as well material. It depends on having faith in our institutions and confidence in ourselves and in each other. We need only look to the last few years of APGA here to find the reasons why we should have faith in ourselves. We need only look to the next few new years and the opportunities ahead to see why we should be confident in APGA more.
Anambra has drawn on its people, it has drawn on its community spirit, it has drawn on its sense of justice and fairness to make sure that the change which APGA is instituting from one LGA to another is sustained by voting visionary and determined APGA Senators, particularly Chief Sir Victor Umeh for Anambra Central, and voting in Federal Representatives who shall deliberate with our Governor from time to time in order to figure out what is required to be done in order to give our people jobs and develop Anambra more. For Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia, Dozie Nwankwo is standing in for us and can do the job better than whosoever any other party is projecting.
Therefore, Ndi Anambra , we only need to be strong to be able to make the necessary change, and the change will only be worth making, if we keep the bonds between us strong as a people who believes in progress and forward movement of Anambra with Governor Willie Obiano, because in the end, this is the only way we will get where we want to go. It is the only way we will solve our problems as Ndi Anambra. It is the only way to avoid creating new ones.
It is because we have the wisdom both to succeed in a plural nation like Nigeria Ndi Igbo and to live together in Anambra as lovers of Progress that we need not deviate from the path of progress which our leader Ojukwu set for us in exploration of unknown path to doom. And in the end I think that is at the heart of our pride, and why we love Anambra state , cherishes APGA and adore Ojukwu as a great leader unforgettable; and hence why we must make sure that the ties that bind us are never broken--- that is why we should all vote APGA no matter what anybody says or thinks.
God bless Anambra State and Uplift our Dreams. Long Live Ndi Igbo and keep Nigeria as United as ever.
Thanks.
